Columbus Visit

This past weekend the entire Krutz household (including the dogs) traveled to Columbus.  My parents had not seen Barron since Christmas so I was so excited for them to see how much he has changed.  When we last left Columbus, Barron was not moving at all on his own.  We all had a great time watching Barron crawl around.  He has some pretty distinct moves!
We came to Columbus so I could go to one of my best friend's announcement party. My sister, Amy, was nice enough to babysit Barron while we went.  She is so good with him and so much more of an Aunt than I could have ever imagined.

We also have fun hanging out with Grandmom.   It was really cold in Columbus and I forgot to bring Barron a jacket.  My Mom went and found one of my Dad's when he was young to put on him.  I think it is so cute.

My parent's lab, Peyton, gets jealous of the attention Barron gets.  Here she is trying to get the focus back on her.

I have had so many people tell me they think Barron looks like my Dad.  I really never saw it until they were hanging out together.  This picture may be hard to tell.

My Dad protecting Barron from his lab, Peyton.
No, that is not a cigar in Barron's mouth, it's my Dad's duck call.  It is soft and great for Barron to chew on.  He is getting his 9th tooth so a little grumpy.  He was not happy when we took it away.

Sundays

In the neighborhood that we live there is a great little playground for kids.  Since Barron is so young I am just getting to enjoy it.  I have taken him over there 3 times in the last month. It is nice to get him and me out of the house.
Pretty much the only thing Barron can do is swing.  My first time I stuck him in it he could not stop laughing.

We thought it would be fun to bring the dogs along.  If you are wondering Barron did not walk over to Bailey, we placed him on her.  It turned out well!

I know you may not can tell we have another dog so I tried my hardest to get a shot of him with Barron.  This was all we could get of Barron and Dylan.  (You can also tell who does not behave since he is the only one with a leash on.)

Dylan has started showing Barron a little bit of affection.  When we returned home from skiing Dylan ran up to Barron and licked him all over.  It was nice to see.

Snack Time

We are trying really hard to get Barron to feed himself.  It is funny how anything besides food he will put in his mouth.  When it comes to food he squashes it with his finger.  We are always putting food on his tray and on his exersaucer.  It keeps him occupied but it never ends up in his mouth.  Bailey is starting to figure this scenario out.  She hangs around, circling him like a shark, then goes in for a bite.  Barron could care less that she eats his food, but if you know Bailey you know she does not need any extra food!  The sweet girl has battled with her weight her entire life.
Barron even decided to help her out and just give her some.

On all fours!

I have made 2 different blogs saying that I did not think Barron would ever crawl on all fours.  Well I was wrong!!!  I do not know what happened but something clicked Saturday night after we got home from Colorado.  I was getting Barron's bath going when I looked back to see him entering the bathroom on his knees.  It was hilarious.  He does not go the full distance on his knees, he goes about 4 steps and then reverts back to the soldier crawl.

Even though we are perfecting the crawling I think we may be walking soon.  Barron has started putting his hands beside him so that he is standing there on his own.  He can stand there for about 20 seconds or so.  He gets real excited and then looses his balance.  He has also realized that if you get on your knees its easier to pull yourself up.  Here he is being a typical Krutz watching the sunset!

Barron was so sweet to come help me with the dishes:

Yesterday I was having the hardest time to get Barron to take his second nap of the day.  He is just not as tired as he used to be.  I decided to just put him in his crib and leave.  I went down stairs and was listening to him over the monitor (which is not a video monitor but have now gotten one) when he started making weird noices.  I went up there and this is what I see:

A lot has happened in the last 2 weeks so I can only imagine what he will be doing in the next.  It is sad to see the immobile stage go but I am so excited for him at the same time.  Watching him learn is very rewarding.

Ski Trip

Every year we go skiing with Bryan's family to Beaver Creek.  This year we had 2 babies in tow. Barron has become a really good traveling companion.  We get a lot of attention from people.  He smiles at everyone, if they don't look at him he stares them down until they do, so that he can smile at them.  It is really funny.

Here is both Dads giving the Mom's a break to eat dinner.  Never thought we would see that!

We got the babysitter one night so we could go to dinner.  Every year we go to the Minturn Country Club where you cook your own steaks.  It's always a fun time.

By the end of the week, Barron had still not touched the snow.  So we bundled him up and took him out there.  When we set him down he accidently put his hands in it and hated it.  Instantly started fussing.  We got some cute pictures though.
