My Birthday Present
I have been wanting a bike with a baby seat for a while now. I decided to use my birthday money to go for it. It came in Saturday and I felt like a child on Christmas. I could not get home fast enough to try it out. I decided to practice riding the bike before we added Barron on. I was extremely nervous with him on the back, I definitely have some practicing to do! (and no I did not mean to match the bike.)
Pink was the only color they had in stock with that style. It would not have been my first choice but it serves its purpose.

Bryan decided he had to try it out. If you are wondering why he has his shirt off he had just gotten done doing yard work and was hot. How embarrassing is that tan? And he says he lives in Florida!!! :)

Courtney and Wiley get Married
On May 30 my little brother, Wiley, got married to the sweetest girl, Courtney. The minute I met Courtney I knew she would fit into our family immediately. Wiley even proposed to Courtney in the same town and date (one day off) that Bryan proposed to me but 5 years later. Weird!!!

Barron decided to walk around and sip on his sippy cup by holding it himself pretty much for the first time!!! He loves some apple juice.

There was a lot for us to do that weekend so my Mom found a lady from Church to watch Barron, Essie Belle. She was very good with him and was a huge help. She even brought him to the Church so that he could get his picture taken with us.

How fun can the kitchen be?
My friend's have been telling me for a while "just wait until he turns 1, it is going to get real fun!" I did not believe them, I thought he was already fun, until now. Barron is always getting into something, he LOVES to open doors and drawers and then close them. My wonderful husband has still not completely "baby-proofed" the kitchen. Well, Barron knows exactly which drawers are not!

He definitely does not like to share his toys...
Barron has also some how learned to put things up. All of his toys are in baskets and I have been noticing that after he plays with them he actually puts them back in the baskets. Crazy, I know. Well this process has started with other things. The other day he picked up one of Bailey's toys and decided to "put it up as well."
Barron is so fun to watch. He is understanding more and more by the day. I am so thankful for him, he always seems to brighten my day.
It is so funny to watch him get into the cabinets and find some really fun toys!

It has been such a busy spring I have not been blogging as much as I would like. So this one is a mix of the last few weeks. Barron has not been feeling the best lately so he has not been himself. Not only has he had an ear infection but he is also getting in a back tooth!

Barron got to meet his soon-to-be Aunt Courtney's new puppy. I was extremely nervous that Barron was going to be a little rough with him but he was not at all. He was so gentle and even kissed him twice on the mouth. We got a picture right before he went in. It was the sweetest thing I think I have ever seen.
Here is the only descent picture of all of us from Mother's Day. We ate brunch after church at the Alys Beach pool. It was very bright as you can see we can barely open our eyes.
Bryan's Aunt Emily and cousin, Ann Elizabeth, are in town and were sweet enough to take the time to come visit us. Barron is normally iffy around people he has not seen in a while but that was not the case with them. Not only did they play with Barron but they danced with him to his music. Dancing is Barron's favorite past time!!!Sunday, May 10, 2009
Mother's Day

My Mom and Mother-in-law have taught me so much. They are both sweet, selfless, patient, beautiful Mommas; and they both had three children all close in age. Now that I have one, I just dont know how they did it. It is sooo much more of a harder job than I ever realized. I am very grateful that Barron will grow up with such wonderful Grandmoms.

Friendship?
As much as Barron loves Bailey, his focus lately has been on Dylan. Dylan is a very animated dog that can move quickly and make funny noises. This is very interesting to a one year old. From the beginning Dylan has pretty much ignored him. We figured that was how he was going to react. Unfortunately, Dylan does not like children. I blame this on the kids that would come right up to our door and torture him when we lived in Rosemary.
I still cannot tell what Dylan thinks about Barron. When Barron approaches him, he runs. Now that Barron is walking this act encourages him even more to chase him. Dylan has figured out where Barron cannot get to him...
Barron and Dylan do this throughout the day. I think this game is actually growing on Dylan. He seems to be encouraging it now.Barron has also become obsessed with the dog bowls. We keep food in Dylan's bowl all the time because he eats throughout the day. Because of this I need to keep them on the ground. Well Barron's curiosity has gotten the best of him. He will not stay away from them. This is starting to aggravate Dylan and he is actually eating more now. If he has food in his bowl and he sees Barron walk over there he immediately starts eating. It is rather funny. I would love for them to be amigos one day. We have seen more interaction between them in the last few weeks than we have seen in a year.

We've Let Go...
I don't know what it is about traveling, but every time we return home from a trip something clicks for Barron. The night we got home from skiing, Barron began crawling on all fours. Monday we return home from our trip to Mississippi and Barron began walking without any help.
I left him in the den playing with his toys while Bryan cooked and I did some things on the computer. The next thing I know I glance over and here comes Barron towards me with the biggest grin on his face. I was shocked to say the least.
