Fred turns 60 and Barron turns 2

The entire Krutz clan got to head to California to celebrate Granddad Krutz's 60th Birthday.  We made our first stop in San Francisco.  There we got to go up to wine country during the day and taste some really good wines.  Barron enjoyed the big city a lot more than I thought he would.  He LOVED all of the cars, buses, and fire trucks that were constantly going by.  I forgot to take my camera with me the entire time we were in San Francisco.  I got one iphone pic of Barron and I while out shopping...
We then headed south to Carmel to the Pebble Beach Food and Wine Event.  Patrick's wine, Krutz Family Cellars, was poured at the event.  While there, Bryan got to play for his first time at Pebble Beach.  We met the men on the 18th hole to bring them some champagne.
Barron could not stay away once he saw his Dad, and ran out there to finish the hole with them.
We then had to find some wine to finish our day with.  Barron and Patrick enjoyed running around and playing.
Barron is very affectionate and continued to try to kiss or hug on Patrick.  Patrick refused to let Barron do it and I think even got annoyed with him.  Here is Barron going in for a kiss...
Since we were in Carmel we had to make a stop at the Cheese Shop.  The Cheese Shop is the reason all of the Krutz boys are in the wine business.  It is a lot of fun to hang out there (even for the little ones).
After getting a bunch of cheese and wine we headed to some rocks on 17 mile drive.  Saying it was cold is an understatement!
On Sunday, we hung out at Spanish Bay.  Every afternoon a bag piper walks up playing.  It is fun to listen to and let the kids run free.
We gave Barron a Pebble Beach hat for his birthday.  He has started to love a baseball hat so he was proud to wear his around.  We had trouble getting him to take it off.
That night for Barron's birthday we all went to dinner.  We learned quickly that the boys did better at the table when they were sitting together.
It would only be fitting for Barron's cake to be mis-spelled again.  Either Barron is hard to spell or I am hard to understand (and I believe I know which one my Dad would say).  Maybe one day we will get Barron's cake right!
It was a wonderful week celebrating with family.  I wish we were together more often!

How My Boy Has Grown.

My precious baby is about to turn 2 in a few weeks.  I have mixed emotions about that day, but it will be here before I know it.
Here is Barron last February looking out the window.  He was 10 months old and not walking yet.  I am sure he crawled over there and got himself up.  It is so hard for me to remember him like that.  He was so chubby then.
Here he is last month.  I remembered that pic (above) of him and wanted to see the height difference in a year.  The funny thing is, he's only about 3 pounds heavier now than he was then.
My tall little baby is unfortunately called a toddler now and likes to take care of his own babies.  They get to eat with us a lot of times at dinner.  And get a bite of food before Barron!  (whatever it takes to get him to eat.)

Fordham Turns 4

Yesterday we went to our good friend's Morgan and Will's son's birthday party.  The theme was super hero's and Fordham dressed up as the dark Spider Man.
Barron does not have any super hero costumes so Fordham was kind enough to let Barron borrow one of his old ones.  So Barron went as Spider Man.
While out with Morgan and Will several weeks ago, and after a few cocktails, we got the great idea that Bryan and Will would dress up as well.  Bryan would be Batman and Will would be Robin.  That night we all thought it was the best idea ever!  I think the day of the party the idea became a little more embarrassing.   But both Bryan and Will stepped up to the plate and did it.
The kids loved them!  They were constantly wanting to wrestle with them in the jumpy house.
Most of the time Batman was playing with the older kids in the jumpy house but Barron got a little bit of time with him.  Morgan's Dad, who is also a Barron, dressed up as Spiderman.
Batman and Spiderman were nice enough to pause for a few minutes to pose with me.  (by the way there were 30 mph wind gusts and my hair was out of control!)
I just love my super heroes!!!
We had the best time.  I think Bryan and Will may have another way to make some money on the side.

The Weight Issue

So we went for our yearly check-up and found that everything is good except that Bailey needs to lose 15 pounds.  That is a lot for a dog.  This really upset Bailey, she hates diets!
She has definitely always been over-weight but I think I know where to direct most of the blame.
Since we leave food in the bowl all day for Dylan to eat when he likes, Barron has figured out that Bailey enjoys to get nibbles from that bowl throughout the day.  Don't worry he also feeds Dylan as well.
The other way Bailey gets fed is at the dinner table.  Barron does not mind dropping a few bites for her.
Hopefully we will get the weight issue under control!  I want her to have many more years with us.

Ski Trip

It has been a crazy month so I apologize for zero posts.  We got to go on our annual ski trip, except  without the entire Krutz clan.  The plan was Bryan, Barron and I to go with my parents and Fred and Cherry.  But because of this winter's crazy weather pattern my parents could not make it.
Barron is old enough this year to enjoy more things but is still not old enough to go skiing.  Hopefully next year I will be posting pics of Barron skiing!

He really loved the snow as long as he didn't have to touch it.  Unfortunately, he called it Wa Wa (which is what he calls water).  I corrected him over and over again but it just didn't work!  In the afternoons we would take Barron sledding.
Then we would head to the swimming pool / hot tub.
One day we had a pretty good snow storm so everyone took the day off from skiing and we got to enjoy the town.  It had the cutest downtown area.
As excited as we were about going skiing with both Grandparents we were glad that one set was able to make it.  They were a lot of help!

Meet Our New Pet

I am not sure where exactly I got the idea to get a fish.  Maybe it came to me the 10,000th time I watched Dorothy on Elmo's World.  But I decided to go get Barron A goldfish.  I thought or wasn't thinking it would be a wonderful experience for Barron to go to a pet store.  He did enjoy seeing the rabbits, eels, hampsters, and rats (yes I said rats).

But after getting everything we needed at the pet store and hanging out there a while longer we had to get on home.  This is when the breakdown started...
Barron then threw himself on the gross floor so I had to quickly grab him.  He left kicking and screaming all the way to the car.  It was a long trip home!
So I went to get A goldfish and left with three betta fish.
Meet Blue Fish:
Red Fish:
and Turk the Jerk:
(he is a little bit more aggressive with the other fish)
Barron loves to watch them and he even helps me feed them.
Here is Red and Turk trying to fight, they are gorgeous when they puff up.  It's a little hard to see them because of the light switch.
I've been doing some research so hopefully they will live a long life.  This is their set-up in our kitchen...
